Door ajar will not go out

I have a 2002 Jetta wagon with 84000 miles and the door ajar will not go out . If the locks need to be replaced can I do it at home or is this some thing that a repair shop needs to do?

one of your latches is bad it is only a matter of figureing out which one start with the drivers side or trunk latch
