I drive a 98' Jetta with 91,000 miles on it. I went around a turn and my car died out. I replaced the fuse for my fuel pump and it ran for a block and popped. I replaced the fuel pump and filter and the problem still occurs. It runs fine at an idle but once i start driving, the fuse pops again.....any suggestions?

Thanks for the donation, It is appreciated!

What size engine?

Sounds like there is a short in the fuel pump circuit.

I may not be much help, but there should be some on the way.

I would look at the circuit as mentioned by Service Writer. Now the question is where the circuit runs through the car. What would I do?

I would run a new positive wire to the rear of the car and cut the supply power and hook to the new wire. If the car works fine and it eliminates the problem I would either leave it or test the wire to start narrowing down the location of the short. This is a short.
