So, my "new" 84 Jetta runs like a champ! Problem is after it is jump started and it runs for hour or more and ya turn it off, then immediatly try to start it again (no jump) nothing. Lights dont dim (oh and nothing electrical was on when running) like bad alternator. The volage meter reads 12-14 as it should but once in a while it takes a hard drop from 13.5/14 to 12 maybe 11.5. Now it does have a non-stock radio installed that maybe connected wrong. Would I be right to think I got battery problems or is the radio maybe draining power. If I turn on lights volts read 11-almost 12. Someone said maybe a bad wire somehere? what do ya think? I think I got dead cells from to much discharging it wont hold charge?
