'86 Cabriolet, 1.8L
Engine runs good, but when warm starts a whining sound. Have eliminated all external belts and components; power steering pump, a/c and alternator. Water pump, tentioner, seals and timing belt all replaced within 6 months along with all external belts. Use Castrol full synthetic 5-30wt for over 5 years. Sound follows sound of engine, in netral or in gear, idling or revving. Does this sound like intermediate shaft bearing to you? And, if so, does the entgine need to be pulled for replacement of the bushing?
Thanks,
Drueke
