I just got my 1600cc engine re-built in my bus at a shop for $1600. I also got the carbeurator re-built and put a new battery in. The valves and timing have also been set.
The problem I'm having is : getting my vehicle to start and not overheat. The reason I think that it's overheating is because I can feel the air coming out of the vents and it's extremely hot, and then the car starts to lose power. When it finally starts, I will go and run an errand or two and then, it wont start at all. It just cranks, and cranks. I let it set an hour or two and it might start. Sometimes, even when it's been setting overnight and it's cool and I pump the accelerator three to four times, it still wont start. It has spark and fuel and wont start. ?
Before I got the engine rebuilt, it never hesitated to start. Even in the dead of winter. It has a electronic start on it.
The shop that re-built the engine is saying it's not their problem and the problem I'm having has nothing to do with the engine re-build. First, they said the battery was bad and then they said the carb needed rebuilding. I did both of those things and am having the same problem. Now, over the phone they said maybe the fuel pump is bad?
Do you have any ideas?

since the engine rebuild, did they move the fuel line, check to see if it is too close to any heat source causing it to vapor lock when you shut it off.
