2004 Volkswagen Jetta keyless remote programming

I changed the battery to the remote and now
it will not open or close my doors. Could not find
procedure on the web for a 2004 Jetta.
Tried other years to no avail. My key is the
switch blade type and I have a valet key as well which
has not remote.

Can someone share the correct information?
