I had an accident a few days back where another car hit mine on the left front wheel. Based on the estimate provided by the mechanic, the suspension, the front axle assembly and a few things like hub, bearing, knuckle, ball joint, etc. needs to be replaced. I am just putting the key words from the estimate, I don't understand the technical details behind it.
The insurance company has considered the cost of repairs to be too high and totaled the car. I am thinking of getting it back as salvage and getting it fixed. The cost will still save me some money.
I am ok with all the problems with the resale value of such a vehicle and any cosmetic issues like paint etc. My concern is the safety. Is this kind of repair considered normal or will there be issues with safety in the future.
I have attached a couple of photos and can upload more if needed. Please let me know what you think.
Thanks
