Have two weird ones occurring. The first has been around but only recently reared its ugly head. The second has occurred since I had my ignition coil changed

#1. On rainy days or on bumpy roads the airbag light goes on. Sometimes flashes and then stays off. Other times stays on for a few hours or a day or so and then goes off.

#2 When the car gets to half a tank of gas or lower the check engine light comes on. When the tank is filled up it stays light and then goes off only to start all over when the tank gets below half a tank of or gas

HI there,

With the check light on, there will be a set fault code stored in the ECU, get a scan done to read this code, report it here if you require further assistance.

Went to Autozone it's a P0422 code on the 1998 Jetta. Changed the fuel cap. Any other things to eyeball or check?

Hi there,

The P0422 is a code for a problem with the 02 sensor or the wiring, as for the air bag, you should be getting a related code for that, you may have to get VW to scan that on again, as there is a number of items that can set this off and i don't want to send you to a wrong option as it may be expensive.
