Electrical problem
1997 Volkswagen Jetta

My 97 VW Jetta has loss of lights, blower, windshield wiper while driving. I can bypass this by holding in the switch for high beams. Through my research it looks like maybe the ignition switch needs to be replaced, but a mechanic told me it was just a turning signal switch that should be fixed. Also our anti-theft system took our radio into safe mode and we had just had the radio replace because we couldn't find the code, radio works fine but is the "computer" in the car still stuck in safe mode and that's why i'm having these electrical problems? PLEASE HELP! THIS GIRL DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS!

there is a possibility that it could just be the switch that needs to be changed, i had the same problem occur with my jetta, and replaced the switches for the lights and wiper and they started to work fine, if that doesnt work then there would be a short out in the wiring between the computer and the electrical components or the fuse
