Brakes problem

Help! I don't know anything about my car, but when I am at a stop light and I put on my brakes after about 10 seconds I can feel the brake peddle go down a bit. I was told to check and see if there are any puddles of anything under my car to see if i have a leak in my break line, but it's been raining for so long that I can't tell. I was also told that I should check and see if I'm low on brake fluid, only trouble is, i can't find where to check the fluid. There is a small reservoir up close to the engine wall and there is another one close to the radiator at the front of the car but they are both written in German! If anyone can tell me where to find the brake fluid thing, I'd really appreciate it!!
