Since I bought the car a year ago it's ran wonderfully. (for an old car anyway) One owner it's whole life. Same owner did the work himself for years. Anyway, it died a couple wks ago on the highway as the belts busted off the pulley connected to the A/C unit. Turns out the Pulley was busted...then turns out the water pump hub was "pushed in too far"(garage's mechanic says)have to replace water pump. Yesturday I pay $700 to get out of shop, it seems to run fine for today. I'm on the highway tonight and it dies? Engine seems to want to turn over but it seems as though I'm out of gas. The gage says 1/2 a tank? The car putters loudly from underneath as I'm trying to start it. Never starts?? Don't hear anything from the engine acting up, so I'm thinking it's something in the fuel system maybe?
