1996 Volkswagen GTI 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

How do I get the trunk release lock unsezied? The key release and the button release both work but the the hatch still won't open...

Not sure in understand. By trunk key release does it have a lock cylinder in driver door panel that is seized or do you mean the actual trunk latch being seized.
