Shakes or Wobbles problem
2001 Volkswagen Golf Two Wheel Drive Automatic 93000 miles
Hi All,
I just had my transmission rebuilt by Alltech in Richmond, BC Canada. They had to replace MANY expensive parts and the bill came to $6,000!!!Replaced/Repaired parts include the valve body, torque converter, gears and more.
Over the past week I have had the car back, the car has shaken VERY violently while stopped at a red light and in Drive. When I shift to Neutral it gets better. The steering wheel was shaking so hard that my keys were bouncing up and down in the ignition and shaking together. When the light changes and I start to accelerate, the car lurches forward a few times before moving properly. This has occured 3 times, usually after a longer drive (30min-1hour) and doesn't happen after every stop.
I took it back to Alltech but they are unwilling to take out the tranny and check everything unless they experience it on a test drive. Being that it has only happened 3 times in the last week, I am worried they'll have my car forever until it actually happens. I have a 1year warranty from them and want this fixed.
Does anyone have any idea what could be happening or has this happened to anyone else before? I am starting to get very frustrated - I paid $6000 and expect not to have any more problems after shelling out so much cash.
