My '76 VW has a release lever in the glove box which releases the primary catch for the front hood. the secondary catch is operated by the handle and push button on the hood.
I cannot release the primary with the inside lever. i've drilled out the rivets that hold the lever in the glove box so i can pull the cable a little farther but it still won't release.
i've checked the secondary catch that operates with the push button and it works fine.
How in the heck am I going to be able to release that primary catch and get the hood open?
