I have purchased a bypass filter. I have placed a t-fitting on the oil pressure switch (to send oil to filter) and have tapped a return line into the generator stand (below the oil filler).
Soon discovered that return line is directed straight into neck of where oil filler comes down. End result was oil going up and being sucked into carbi. Causing smokie exhaust and back-fire. I will reposition the return line so it isn't directing the oil up the oil filler neck. The questions I would like answered is...
1. Can I remove the 'baffle?' plate that is locted between the generator stand and where oil enters motor (above crank shaft).
2.Would this allow the oil to drop quicker into the motor and therefore not end up in the carbi?
3. Is there a better location to return the oil to the motor?
