1968 Volkswagen Beetle Manual

hi, i have a 1968 vw beetle, its been off the road for the last 12 months to be restored, i have just taken it to get its mot and it has started to make a skreeching noise from the front drivers side (rhd) wheel when accelerating past 20 mph and stops when i slow down past 20mph, any ideas what it could be

many thanks

my first guess is the speedometer cable.

does the speedo needle act strange when the noise is present?

it could still be the cable.

disconnect it down by the wheel and take it for a drive.

I don't think it's a bearing.
bearings don't skreech, they growl.

I assumed that since it is RHD, then the speedo drive would have been put on the right side wheel so they could use the shortest cable as possible.

what does it feel like when you spin the wheel when you have the front end lifted up in the air?
