Vibration and swerving of vehicle while on 80 km/h or above

I changed steering rack, replaced four tires with brand new ones and did wheel balancing and alignment. But still observed that while on speed of 80 km/h and above , if i apply brake, the vehicle vibrates with steering shaking. It even moves to either side when at speed of 100 km/h while am holding the steering tight.

Hi Chibuzo,

More than likely this is caused by your rotors. If the vibration is there after you press on the brake pedal then the rotors are beginning to warp. If the pads are ok then you could get away with just turning the rotors. I would not recommending replacing the rotors by themselves without at least scuffing the pads.

However, the fact is that the faster the rotors spin and then you press the brake the vibration will increase with increased speed.

Hi Kasekenny1, Thanks so much. Turning of rotor done and vibration stopped.
However, at speed of 110km/h the vehicle intermittently drifted as if am loosing control whereas I have a grip of the steering. what could likely cause this? Tie rod or what?

Good to hear that.

As for the drifting. Yes. I would expect you have a tie rod, ball joint or other steering joint loose.
