Car will rev up the rpm's in park and neutral but just will move in gears. Could it be in limp mode or safe mode or it something more serious? Need your help thanks!

It sounds like the transmission is low on fluid which will make it slip.

Here is a guide that will help you see how what you are in for when checking it:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-service-an-automatic-transmission

This car has a CVT transmission which have problems (FYI).

Below are diagrams on how to check it in your car.

Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.

Fluid and filter is find thanks for the information though! that is not the problem car rev's in park, neutral, rpm checks out, when put in drive, acts like it is in limp or safe mode, just will move in forward in drive and reverse like the ECU is not communicating with the TCM could this be a bad transmission control module? or bad transmission valve body?

I just bought a 2006 Nissan Murano SL 3.5 V6 with 64,000 miles on it, the person I bought the car from was having it serviced at Jiffy Lube using conventional oil. I have always used synthetic oil in my vehicles mostly Mobil 1, but I would like to switch to full Synthetic 5W-30 this maybe and engineer question like to know your thoughts on this for I do not want to cause harm to the engine!!

Hi, I am Roy and I can help you with this.

Yes, you can change to full synthetic. It will not harm the engine. Use 5-30 as the manufacturer recommends. Mobil 1 is a good choice.
