My transmission has a hard shift, almost a bang going up through the gears on acceleration. I wanted to check the specs on this sensor. My information so far says it should read 800 to 1400 ohms between the pins and 10+ ohms between either pin and the shell. Is this correct information? If the shell referred to is the body, in my case the body is plastic so there would be no resistance reading. I have no resistance reading from the base clamp or the part that extends to the ring gear to the pins.

I had the VSS out of the vehicle when I asked the question but I needed the vehicle before I could complete all the tests. Took the van on the road and the problem is gone.
