Vehicle speed sensor and input shaft speed sensor location please?

The speed sensor is on the transmission near the passenger side axle shaft output. Here is a diagram with red arrows showing its location Please let us know what happens. (BELOW) The input sensor is behind the side cover of the transmission. Attached below are the instructions and diagrams of how to replace it. Let us know if you need anything else.

1 - Pressure Control (PC) Solenoid Valve
2 - 1-2 Shift Solenoid (SS) Valve
3 - Automatic Transmission Input Shaft Speed (ISS) Sensor
4 - 2-3 Shift Solenoid (SS) Valve
5 - Automatic Transmission Internal Mode Switch (IMS)
6 - Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS)
7 - Automatic Transmission Fluid Pressure (TFP) Manual Valve Position Switch
8 - Automatic Transmission Fluid Temperature (TFT)Sensor
9 - Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) Solenoid Valve

Hi I have a question. So i have a 2008 3.9 l v6 impala and i bought a scanner tool that reads abs, connected it and showed code c0035 00 and pointed to the left driver side wheel speed sensor. Where is the 10 mm bolt and rest of the harness located?? I have been searching for days now to find out where it is located.

There should be a wiring harness running to the sensor that is in the hub. If there is no harness there, then that is your issue. It should not take you days to find it so I imagine it has been tucked out of the way. Did this issue just happen or did you just buy this vehicle? I can understand if you can't find the speed sensor because that is kind of tucked up behind the rotor but the harness should be the only wiring harness on the entire assembly.

Where is the input speed sensor located on this car? This is not the output speed sensor (VSS) which is on the passenger side of the trans-axle near the final drive. This is the input speed sensor that feeds the turbine speed to the ECM. Not for vehicle speed readout. Anyone know where that is? This car is the SS model.

The input speed sensor is in the valve body on the side of the transmission. the plate needs to be removed to gain access to the sensor. picture attached. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

I took my car to Midas to get new transmission picked car up today driving home engine light came on took to AutoZone codes p0700 and p0722 came up. also, odometer reading stop working. looked under hood loose also alignment off. just got front alignment a month ago. as driving home car would not go in gear heard racing sound. is odometer due to code p0722 TCM? please help

Code p0722 is for signal from output speed speed sensor signal. that could explain your speedometer etc. I would take it back and complain could just be something unplugged.

i just purcahsed an 06 impala, the light turned on and came with p0717 code. we took it to the dealer to fix two times and still not fixed. they say they replaced an o2 sensor the then the speed sensor. what advice can i follow to fix myself?

If the input speed sensor was replaced then the wiring harness needs to be inspected. Ensure it is not stretched too tightly and also that other components are not pressing on the AT inline 20-way connector body. also inspect for proper clearance to any other components and wiring in that area.

i will check that out. thank you. and as for the sensor, im not sure if the mechanic really replaced it. the check engine light comes on and off

After looking at your title it looks like you are looking for the vehicle speed sensor. This picture is for the 3.8 engine since you did not supply an engine size.
