My vehicle a Toyota Duet 2002 model.
It's hunting seems like it's revving itself even when idling, this also causes it to vibrate a lot at times.
Idling is very high too.
It used to be very quiet.
I've had it taken for diagnostics and it displays the P0340 camshaft angle sensor error (currently looking for the sensor).

Is it the sensor causing this issue or it is coming from elsewhere?

Please help.

It is unlikely that this code is causing the hunting and high idle but it is possible.

Here is a guide that will help with this issue and is where we should start. I would think a vacuum leak would be more likely.

Below is the testing that we need to run through for the code if the above info checks out okay.

Please let us know if you have other questions and we can go from there.

Thanks

Good day.
Thank you for your speedy response.
I'm yet to start working on the car but one tip that you gave me already showed where the issue is, it's a vacuum leak somewhere on the throttle body.

Did a quick experiment by partially closing the throttle air inlet , closed it about 90% up and voila hunting gone and idling normal.

So I now need to find where the leak is exactly.
I will keep you posted.
