Engine Performance problem

Since my car 'service' last autumn, I have had to put in a litre of oil, 4 times now. Im not sure what the problem is, the oil warning light comes on after about 15 mins driving at 70mph. Is it possible; the garage have not put the correct amount of oil in, or not put the drain plug in properly? I can see no oil drips and theres no smoke as far as I know of? I am loathed to return to this 'garage' as I am not happy with their so called customer service. Are there any decent garages, that would give me free advice and not rip me off?
