2002 Vauxhall Vectra Blue Smoke

I have been to view a car and as I am female I do not know much. The battery was dead, I went back the next day when they got it started and it was burning blue smoke after a couple of minutes of the test drive, which stopped after a while. Does this car have serious problems?
