1999 Vauxhall Tigra Engine Size unknown 66700 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not too sure on the milage as my car is in the garage at the moment.

I had an accident in my car, at this time it was running fine with no problems. Upon obvious damage repair the car was delivered back, I drove it about 1 mile before it died on me.

The engine was revving really high at times, the dashboard lights came on then dipped before it died completely. The engineer says it is the alternator and not related to the accident.

Can an accident cause alternator problems? It was raining heavily when I had my accident water certainly could have got under the bonnet.

How could you tell if it was general wear & tear or a break down for any other reason?

Many thanks,
Alison.
