I have a Vauxhall Vectra 1.8LS, Petrol, 2002, 56k miles, it is the last of the old Vectras. The engine ECU needs replacing. My garage tells me that they cannot retrieve the infomation they need for from the old ecu. They are even telling me that they are finding it extremely difficult to find an ecu.
Can they not simply put in a new ecu and get if programmed in a way other than having to take the information from the old ecu. which, they say, they cannot get any information from? Can it really be this difficult?
