1991 Other Vauxhall Models Manual

Hi i have a vauxhall frontera 2.3 tdi, L reg, Diesal
Basically i was out in it the other day and the car cut out then started stalling the clutch peddle then felt really light, now i can start the car fine but as soon as i try and put it in reverse to try to reverse from my parking space it jumps back slightly and then stalls i have changed the slave cylinder but still no luck? i cannot work out what is wrong with it it is un drivable at the moment as i cannot put it in reverse when the car is turned off i can put it in to all the gears fine soon as i turn the car on and try to put it in reverse it jumps back and then stalls any help would be greatly appreciated.
