The speedo has stopped working can you tell me if the speedo is a cable to the gear box or electric

there is a VSS (vehicle speed sensor) located on the gearbox housing it probably needs replacing !!

the speed sensor sends an electrical signal .. there is no cable on youe vehicle ! hope this helps
