Hi there, i have a vauxhall corsa b 1996 1.4 16v, has no power when you accelerate, takes a long time for it to 'rev up' i have replaced the crank shaft sesor, crank shaft sensor backet, idle valve, new air box, new map sensor new oil/oil filter, new fuel filter and still the same, however when you unplug the crank shaft sensor it revs up fine full power etc but wont rev past 4000 rpm, it is starting to cost alot on of money now and many garages are stumped, please help.

I suspect you have faulty wiring to the CKP (crankshaft position sensor) or the actual PCM (computer) is faulty and sending bad signals .. of course you could have been unlucky and the new CKP you have put on, could be faulty still ...when you unplug the sensor the PCM goes to it's default settings for the CKP, but will only allow the engine to run in limp home mode !! hope this helps

I would try swapping out the CKP again first ... also do a wiring and voltage check from CKP to ECU/PCM you should be able to get the voltage and OHMS spec's from a repair manual .. i do not have them as the vehicle was not released in the USA ... I would do this before spending 7/800 pounds on a new ECU ... let me know ?
