2004 Vauxhall Astra Front Wheel Drive Manual 40000 miles

Getting smell of petrol inside car but dissapears when driving,Have i got a fuel leak and will i be able to fix my self. cheers jane

the fuel pump is under the rear seat on this model ..so possible a leak there .. but you would smell it all the time ? leak we couldn't say without seeing the vehicle .. is it using more fuel ?? excessive ?? could just need a good service .. i would get your mechanic to check it out ?
