Electronic light, car with spanner

dash light car with spanner.

Hi hope someone can give me an answer.
Had car in to Vauxhall garage to investigate above light coming on. It only comes on once engine warm and driving at 60/70. Garage want to do more tests as the problem is not apparent, this will cost a substantial amount on top of what I have already paid. Any ideas please?

The light you mentioned is telling you there is an electrical fault of some sort on the vehicle .. If a diagnostic scan is done when the light is ON this should tell the repair tech where the problem lies .. there could be numerous reasons for the light coming on .... a diagnostic scan using vauxhall software should reveal where the fault lies !! hope this helps

Thanks but the light is not on permanently, Vauxhall did the diagnostics but could not find fault, they want to do further tests.

I do not see what test's they want to do when the light is off... short of testing every electrical system and wire on the vehicle (very costly even with a scan tool). the only real way they can discover in which system/circuit the fault lies is to plug in there diagnostic scanner and road test the vehicle to get the light to come on. this will pinpoint where the fault lies.
