van cranks over but wont start

changed battery and van cranked up and started about 10 times,all at once it cranks but wont start up . I don't have spark are fuel pressure,battery is strong.i don't know if the alarm system would cause it. thought it only stopped fuel.i checked fuses and relay as best as I can. would body module cause this? i appricate any help.

When you turn the key to the on position without cranking the engine over can you hear the fuel pump run in the tank for 5 seconds? This guide can help.

hmac300,tried the things you indicated did not help . had 15 lb.fuel pressure,have no spark to plug . cranks over strong.have to remove fuse panel to get to battery on these vans,i mean unbolt and move not remove. im kinda lost lost, any more ideas? I sure need help. thanks

did you scan for codes? fuel pressure should 52-59psi chec elec eng andfuel inj fuses in fuse box. also check ignition relay may not be working. if not these then it must be scanned and can be a fuse box problem or corroded relays it also may be the pcm connection has a problem.

I scanned for codes ,no faults. I am going to check fuse panel for damaged wireing and go back over fuses and relays. is there a fuseable link on wires to ign? are any where that might cause this? thanks.

see pics also elek ign fuse in underhood fuse block. use a test light so you don't pull fuses out lot easier and faster. also what is fuel pressure?

the fuel pressure is 15 lb . what in the line . cant hear any pump noise for first squirt.no fire to plugs I had problem when first put battery in . triped alarm would not even click. ran a test leaveing key on for 15 20 min. and start this worked,thenstarter jammed for some reason. pulled off beanch tested it and worked great on bench and after put back on car.starter still works great. I know it hard for you to tell me just what is wrong,you are not able to hands on it.iv tried all you have indicated to do .it kick you in the%#$$@@# when you fix one are two thing then fall into another problem.im open to any ideas. I thought MAYBE body module? thanks .t.p. have a good one.

in my previous replies I gave the specs for fuel pressure also reset anti theft with the instructions in previous reply I think it's a fuel problem the pressure should be at fuel rail. I have no other suggestions.

It was the crankshaft angle sensor not turning the fuel pump or ignition on all fixed cost me $89.00 I love this site

Check the fuel pressure if its witihin specs, check injector/s pulses and look for an ignition spark-start here

vehicle spontaneously overheated on the highway at speed, then engine shut down. Battery went dead almost immediately. after cooldown (nearly 2 hours) and a jumper cable connected, vehicle cranks but will not start. have checked all fuses (inside and under hood). Can hear fuel pump come on. can hear efi system pressurize. Once jumper cable is connected, all dash lights work as normal. No strange messages on dash.

Do basic stuffs below:

Get a helper disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine at least 3/16 away from ground -have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs,coil's resistances,distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors and computer Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it

Hello,

I have a 2005 Pontiac Montana, the other day my wife and two girls took it out with a very low gas tank. It was below empty. I always told them they have to make sure there is at least half a tank of gas because with cold winters doesn't help at all. They didn't go very far and it stalled. I went to go and put some gas in the tank. Even then it wouldn't start. So I thought give it time, I got it towed home and left it over night. Now when I try to start it, it turns over but doesn't start at all. Any idea what could be wrong? Is it the fuel injectors? It just doesn't seem to accept the gas that's there. Thank you so much for your time.

In tank fuel pumps are cooled and lubricated by the fuel in the tank. When you run a car out of gas, it pumps a lot of air through the pump which overheats it and causes some severe wear and many times, failure when they cool off.
You will need to use a fuel pressure gauge to verify this
