I noticed the oil pan leaking some and I wanted to make sure the strainer area down there was clean so I resealed the oil pan and let it cure. When I went to refill the oil system I only had about two quarts and some used oil. So I added about a quart of it but it was dirtier than I thought. When I drove it was making like a sucking strangling sound when I would go to accelerate and would not really accelerate but would pop a little and resist it. I took off the valve cover and noticed that one of the oil ports was plugged with some sediment from that old oil. I flushed and sea foamed it and and replaced the lifters (hydraulic) and it is back to making good power, but there is still a littler of that sucking sound under acceleration and it smokes at lower rpm and idles a little rough when it warmed up all the way. Also,I can hear some vibration in the valve train when I start it up. Any recommendations?

The sucking sound do you know where is is coming from? Can you take a quick video of the noise with you phone and upload it in your response? That way we do not have to guess.

Please let me know. Cheers, Ken

The valve train. That is where it is coming from. It is an issue of where I put the dirty oil.

Can it be an engine vacuum leak? How does the engine seem to run?
