Is it recommended to work on replacing the valve gaskets and spark plugs when the car is cold?

My car has been sitting in the street for about a week already without spark plugs. When my order for the valve gasket comes in, I will do the work. Since the car is parked outside in the cold. Is it recommended to work on it in the cold or just wait until it warms up?

Hello,

You can work on it when it is cold. It will just be easier for you when it is warm. But there is no restriction due to being cold.
So really up to you.
It is also easier to work with gaskets that are not super cold as that makes them stiff.

I've removed the spark plugs. Unscrewed the bolts to the coils and naturally the metal plate for the coils and spark plugs. Do I need to disconnect the 4 coils as well?

It will probably be best if you unplug the coils. It should provide you with more room to work on the valve cover.
