Bent valve inspection instructions needed

Had a failed timing belt, after retiming and placing a new belt car won't turn over and when it did a few times it backed fire and sputtered then shut off. I believe the vehicle may have bent valves due to the wear of the old belt shredded. May I get some info on how to check for bent valves and how to repair them?

Hello,

First step would be to get the cylinder head off the vehicle. Then you will have better access to the valves. Keep in mind that in some cases the valves can strike the top of the pistons and damage that as well.

After removing the head if there is damage to the valves you will have to get new valves and have the cylinder head inspected by a machine shop. They can use specialized machines to perform that task.
