Vacuum lines diagram needed

Have the truck listed above with a 1993 22R-E. Had a mechanic has put on a new carburetor and it's still flooding. He told me that a vacuum line can cause it to flood. where can i get copy of the diagram that shows' how the vacuum lines go on a 1993 22R-E.

Hi Larry,

Since the 1987 was carbureted and the 1993 is fuel injected, this is going to be a tricky one for me.

I attached the vacuum schematics I have for the 1993. I don't see how a vacuum leak is causing flooding. Are you sure the float is set properly in the carburetor? Is the choke fully opening? There is a vacuum fuel shut off that is actuated when decelerating, but that shouldn't cause a problem at idle. Also, that is a standard on the 1987. LOL

Tell me as much as you can about what is happening and what has been done. What has been changed on the 1993 engine to make it work in the 1987? I'll try my best to help.

How are you Sir? hope you're doing okay. The engine was changed out before I bought the truck, the guy I bought the 22R-E installed at a mechanic shop and they installed a carburetor on the truck. That's all I know about that, when I bought the truck, you had to prime the carburetor to get it started and it got to the point you could not start it. We checked the fuel lines, and the person working on my truck checked the fuel pressure and it was up to standard. I forget what it was, he installed the carburetor and he told me it was flooding that's all I know. I just got out of the hospital and rehab where I had surgery on my neck.

Hi Larry,

I hope you are doing well. Anything related to neck surgery can't be too good. Sorry to hear that.

As far as the vehicle, it if is flooding, the first thing I would think was the float in the carburetor isn't properly set or the needle and seat are not stopping the fuel from entering it. When you start the truck, are you seeing a lot of black smoke? Has the shop removed the spark plugs to see their condition?

I have bought new sparkplugs and a set of sparkplug wires taking them to the mechanic today. the carburetor is new.

Hi,

Let me know the results. Also, if there is anything causing the needle and seat to not seal, the carb will overfill with fuel and cause flooding. Even though it's new, there could be an issue.
