Used PCM and BCM from salvage yard, do they need programming?

I purchased both the PCM and BCM from the same vehicle, same year as mine. Do I need to get both programmed? I'm hoping this will solve my problem with the pass lock not allowing the ignition to start. I tried to get the original BCM to go into learning mode for a new ignition/key, but it just won't do it the security light just slowly flashes between security and battery. I'm looking for the least expensive solution, I've already put a good deal of money into this problem.

Yes, they probably will, I would plug them in to see what happens, but before we start with them, have you done a CAN scan? You can get a CAN scanner (Controller Area Network) from Amazon for about $36.00.

You don't need high dollar scanners anymore. Also, you can try a hard reboot which is done by removing the negative side of the battery, with the cable loose from the negative side of the battery, hold it to the positive terminal for 1 minute this will discharge the memory capacitors in the BCM and PCM allowing the system to reboot. Please let me know what happens.
