I have a random metal line coming out from near the oil cap. Where is it supposed to go?

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.
If the item you are referring to plugs into the valve cover, it sounds like it is the PCV valve. Take a look at the picture I attached. First, locate the oil cap and then to the right, the PCV.
Let me know if that is what you are referring to. If it isn't, could you upload a picture for me to see?
