Security reset

I replaced the tumbler and the part with the teeth I used a Chevrolet key. when I turn the key on the security light comes on and goes right off, so I can't do the security reset. what else can I do?

Hello,

Why did you replace the tumbler? Some ignitions have a plastic ring around the key hole that reads the key. Do you have this type on you car? if it does make sure it's seated nicely. there is two small wires that sometime break leading from it. you should check that.
