Hello. Two months ago I inserted bushing in the cylinders due to scuffing, changed the engine pistons to a new one. after this for the first ignition i did not like the sound of car, and is now much worse. What's that sound, what could it be?
Car from the US, Hyundai Elantra MD 2012, 1.8 DOCH G4NB. before repair 5w20 oil poured shell and after repair 5W40.
I have video and please listen the sound of engine.

Good afternoon,

Sounds like valve train noise. You have a much heavier knock if it was a piston or bearing.

Hello Roy. thanks for the reply, the noise as in the first video is not always, but as in the second video every morning. pay attention to the first few seconds start with a bang and then the sound changes dramatically when you first start gives the vibration, shaking.

Yes, I heard that. That could be an oil pump or worn main and rod bearings.

There should be no noise at all.

Did you check the actual oil pressure?

Hello. today changed the oil pump cover. the sound of the first 3 seconds after the start is again present, and then normal. I suspect that UTB gear of the VANOS.

Did you check the actual oil pressure?

It is possible but worn bearing will do the same thing.

Okay, you need to check the oil pressure.

I want to help but I need information. I see all you did but I need the oil pressure readings.
