A/C fuse melted

Hi,

If the fuse was the correct amperage, it would have failed. How badly did it melt? It could have a spot where the fuse heated before blowing. Also, what amperage was the fuse, which fuse box, and is it the one for the AC compressor? I suspect it is a 15-amp compressor fuse in Fuse box C. See pic 1. Let me know if I'm correct.

It melted a lot so I'm going to need to replace my fuse box. So, i opened my fuse box to see if I could line up the fuse holder and i placed a new fuse and turned the fan on working good, but when I turned my A/C the fuse started to get warm. so, i pulled the fuse. It's a manual unit and yes it had a 15. I was going over my A/C and found out that my A/C pressure switch is not working.

If the pressure is getting too high, it will place an excessive load on the compressor clutch/coil. That will cause it to draw more power to operate. It sounds like you may have found the cause.

My only concern is this. The fuse is designed to fail at a specific power draw. That truly should have happened before things melted. When you took the box apart, was there anything that seemed out of the ordinary? Are there any other things that appear to have been overheated?

Hey Joe,

I didn't see anything out of the ordinary well, to be honest, it's the first time I open a fuse box. I have some pictures. I was planning on taking it apart to clean it out and see if I find something inside the box. So, the only thing holding me back is going to be trying to figure out where each wire goes where, maybe you have a diagram or a way to make it easy to rewire the fuse box back.

I have a question. I looked up how to check if your A/C pressure switch is out and I came across a video that says to use a voltmeter to check for continues. So, I checked my switch and got no beep, so I when and got me a new switch check it and nothing. so, I got back online came across different information that says some switch are open and some close. Do you know how I can find out if my pressure switch is really out? I really want to clean out my fuse box and set it up install a fuse and see if I fix it .

If I had the vehicle, I would replace the fuse box. I don't see how you can fix what has happened. Also, I copied one of your pics from above. Are the wires I circled going to the fuse that melted the box? See pic below

As far as wiring schematics, I can try my best, but I need to know a few things. For example, I need the production date of the vehicle, is it a hybrid, and how would you best describe it? Is it more of a base model or is it loaded with options?

Yes, that's wire is the one that melted and is a base model manual 1.4L screen stereo but no navigation VIN starts 3vw167 and last 8 are hm207482.
