fuel pump not getting power from relay 12v in good.
spark , good.
ref voltage on sensors good.
fires on alternative fuel.
engine turns doesnt start. bypassed relay and with fuel pump running still doesnt start. voltages on CAN bus good,12v and earth, CANL 2.51v, CANH 2.51v ( is that too similar)

Where did you take this bus reading? This is great that you actually understand what CAN voltages are and that you took them. The only thing we need to find out is where you got these because you have three CAN networks, CAN B, CAN C, and diag CAN C. Depending on where these were taken will change the answer if this is normal or not. I assume you took it from the DLC but just confirm that for me.

I took it at the connector under the dash, checked resistors and voltages there. I was going to check with a CRO and start removing modules to isolate if I found a strange can waveform, but my CRO is old, analog and I don't know where the modules are. Can you confirm that Outlander has just one unit ECM/PCM or are there two units an ECM and a PCM?
Also the names of the two units , one near the fuses in the engine bay, the other behind the glove box (RHD) these three letter acronyms TLAs are very confusing.

Sorry for the delay. So if you took it under the dash on the data link connector that is your diagram CAN c and those bus voltages are going to be the same and that is normal.

You take a look at the diagram and just go to one of your CAN C modules and back probe those wires to get your CAN C voltages.

Can you send me a picture of the waveform that you got? That is great that you were able to get that and seeing that will really help. Tell me where you took the reading and I can send you a known good waveform for that CAN system then we can unhook modules to see when your pattern goes normal.

Also, when you say you check resistances, are you talking about your termination resistance? For this you need to unhook the batter and then check the resistance across the CAN network. However, this again needs to be done past the diag CAN C because that is different then your CAN C network.
