What type of engine oil for maintenance?

I just bought a used VW Routan 2009 from USA and I live in Nigeria. Can I used engine oil 10w 40 instead of the recommended 10w 30. Or is 5w 30 as a good alternative? Thanks a lot.

Hello,

5W30 would be the better option, but the 10W40 can also be used if the factory recommended is not available.
Also, this engine will need 5.2 liters of oil.
