back passenger side window and lift-gate button not working

Two issues. First, the back passenger window goes down using the back door control button, but will not go back up with that button. However, it goes up and down using the driver's window controls. Does the back passenger door control button need replacing.

Second, the lift-gate goes up and down fine using the fob remote or the button on the ceiling between the driver and passenger, but nothing happens when you push the button on the actual lift-gate. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I can help with the side window. If the window works in both directions from any switch, the wiring is okay. When it only works in one direction, that can be caused by either switch. It has nothing to do with which one works and which one does not. That is because there are actually four sets of contacts inside each switch. Current flows through two sets of contacts in each switch when either one is activated, so any of those four sets can have a pitted or arced contact and stop the window from working that one way.

The driver's switch is the most likely one to cause a problem because it gets used more often. An easy place to start is by popping off both rear switches, then plug the left one into the right side. If the window works properly, the diagnosis is done. If it still does not work one way, find a used driver's switch assembly in a salvage yard. Plug that in to verify the problem is solved.

For the rear window, the wiring has to be okay. My first suspect would be a mechanical issue with the switch or a linkage connected to it.
