While driving it shut down, overheated, then temperature sensor code popped up. i changed it along with thermostat and gaskets on water pump, but car won't start. I hope my head gasket isn't blown.

Hi,

If it has a crank/no-start condition, it could be a few things. The easiest thing to try is to see if it starts for a couple of seconds using starting fluid. If it starts and then stalls, we know it is a fuel related issue. If it doesn't make a difference, then it's likely an ignition issue. At that point, you would need to check for spark.

Here is a link you may find helpful:

If that doesn't help, here is a link that explains how to check for a blown head gasket. However, I feel that even if it is bad, it would still run or at least try to run.

Do me a favor. Record it cranking so I can hear it. I will likely be able to tell if it is a compression issue (bad head gasket) or not.

Let me know.

Joe
