Hit a deer on front drivers side. Stayed running and drove it home but won't start the next day.

Hello,

There could be multiple reasons why the engine won't start.

First of all, what does it do when you try to start it? Does it crank over? Does it just click? or Nothing happens when you try to start?

Depending on the damage from the hit, it is possible to have a lost connection from the alternator to the battery. If the battery were to get disconnected, the vehicle would keep running but as you shut it off it will not start back up.

If you run over something, then it is possible for it to hit the starter and that could be the issue as well.

Also, if it was any fuel shut off switch it would trigger immediately after the impact and stall the engine.

Please let me know a few more details of what you have been experiencing.
Thank you.
