Shut off while driving, engine cranks but does not start

Hi,

The EEC fuse powers the PCM and the CCRM (constant control relay module). The Constant Control Relay Module (CCRM) interfaces with the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to provide control of the cooling fan and A/C clutch. The module includes the PCM power relay to provide power to the PCM, so if the fuse failed, that is the cause of the no start. See pic 1 below.

If you look at pic 1, not there is a splice located between the PCM and the CCRM. With the fuse removed, probe the yellow wire at the EEC fuse and check for continuity to ground. If you find there is continuity, locate the splice and check for damage. If there isn't continuity, disconnect the CCRM and replace the fuse to see if it fails again. If it does, that fault is likely in the relay. If it doesn't do the same with the PCM, make sure to check the connectors for corrosion, damaged pins, or anything that can cause a short.

Pic 2 below shows the location of the CCRM. The PCM is located behind the right-side cowl. See pic 3.

The splice should be located on the right side of the engine compartment, near the CCRM.
