The most likely cause would be either the turn signal stock, the circuit between the turn signal stock and the body processor module, or the body processor module itself. I would start by grounding the pink/green wire at the turn signal stock connector, if they now work, then you have a faulty turn signal stock/switch. With that being said, the body processor module has F.E.T. transistors that will open when a short is detected in a circuit, so another easy test would be to cut the two green with pink wires at the body processor module, disconnect the battery for three minutes, reconnect the battery and check for voltage at the green/pink wires coming out of the processor. If you now have 12 volts, or a flashing test light, connect one circuit at a time to eliminate front or rear. This will narrow things down for you.

I have removed the steering wheel, the airbag and the lower steering wheel cowl. Now I need to remove the upper steering wheel cowl. Are there clips or screws? It seems to be well anchored on the column. It is loose nearest the driver but rather tight where it meets the dashboard.
Any suggestions??
Best regards,
Steve

I am attaching the process from the manual for the upper cowl. Let us know if there are other questions or what you are trying to replace and we will see if we can get the process for that component if you need it. Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I think you are using the same manual as I am. After I removed the lower cowl, I found 2 machine screws to remove which loosened up the upper cowl. However, I am certain that there is a third screw nearer to the driver seat. The upper cowl is loose and will rock side to side and forward and back. I saw a post somewhere online that bears out my belief that there are 3 screws fastening the upper cowl.
Many thanks,
Steve

If it is moving around there could be a third screw but even if there is, it isn't tightened or it wouldn't be moving around. So I doubt there is a screw, I bet it is just wedged in there.

Have you dropped the steering wheel down? Meaning the tilt steering, you need to drop that down and that will give you room to pull it out. Ford columns are just like this. They get trapped in there until you drop the wheel down and then you have to wiggle them all around before they will come out but if the tilt wheel is not down, it will not come out.
