Hi,

This vehicle doesn't have a traditional signal flasher. The flasher function for this vehicle is provided by the Lighting Control Module (LCM).

Here is a description of the circuit:

2007 Mercury Grand Marquis V8-4.6L VIN W
Multifunction Switch
Vehicle Lighting and Horns Relays and Modules - Lighting and Horns Hazard Flasher Relay Locations Components Multifunction Switch
MALTIFUNCTION SWITCH
Hazard Flasher Relay is replaced by the Multifunction switch.

Description and Operation
Module Controlled Functions
The vehicle is equipped with the following multifunction modules:
^ Lighting control module (LCM)

Lighting Control Module (LCM)
The LCM monitors the inputs and provides outputs and diagnostic information for the following multiple vehicle systems, including the:
^ Brake shift interlock
^ Exterior lighting
^ Interior lighting
^ Perimeter alarm
The LCM receives a voltage input from the brake pedal position switch and provides power to the brake shift interlock solenoid. For the exterior lighting, it receives inputs and provides outputs to control the exterior, interior (including the cluster and panel illumination) lighting systems on the vehicle. The perimeter alarm is controlled by the LCM, which receives inputs from the perimeter alarm switches and arms the alarm when commanded.

Also the dealership was going to sell me a directional relay which I assumed is the same thing as turn signal relay. Is that correct or not?

Hi,

Are you certain all light bulbs are good? In the rear of the vehicle, each side has two bulbs. If one of the two is bad, it will hyper flash.

Take a look at the attached pic.

Let me know.
