Turn signal lever swap

Went to use turn signal and it's just floppy, no resistance nothing happens.
I don't have any money right now to replace but I have a 1986 GMC Sierra and wondering if I can use parts from it and if so, I need instructions with photos please

Hi,

I looked up part numbers for both trucks and believe it or not, they are the same. See pic 1 and 2 below.

As far as the directions, because of the model year, they are limited. However, I did add what I have from the manual. See pic 3.
