With headlights on, the turn signal indicator and bulbs on left side illuminate but do not flash?

Hi,

Either you have the brown and black wires mixed up (black ground / brown park lamp) or the daytime running lamp (DRL) module is faulty.

In theory, if the headlamps are turned on and you have power going to ground at that socket, it may be back-feeding through to the light and indicator. Check to make sure they are in the correct order.

Next, when the turn signal is turned on, there is a relay in the DRL that allows power to reach the signal. Once that switch is turned off, the relay should return to an open position which will allow the parking light to turn back on. (see pic below)

Check to make sure the wiring is correct, and you have a good ground.

PS: my '99 has an LS6 under the hood.

Jose said one of the wires had a loose spice connection. He redid the splice and was done in 20 minutes, no charge. I promised to write a nice BBB and YELP review, but I will not mention "free".

Thank you for the update and I'm glad to know the problem was resolved. I suspect it was the ground wire that was allowing power to backflow to the indicator. Did he mention anything like that? And, like you, I feel recognition of a job well done is always a good thing.
